A leather jacket is one of the primary investments that a guy can make. The jacket is not only timeless but also highly versatile apparel. Buying the men’s leather blazers are a no-brainier when it comes to building your wardrobe.

The leather jacket is one of the big investments a guy can make after the suit. A leather blazer has something transformative around it. In other words, you immediately start feeling like a badass.

Technically, it is possible to make any kind of a jacket style into the leather jacket style. There are roughly five types of jackets one is most likely to run into while picking up one’s staple style.

Double-rider Jacket or Schott Perfecto: The Perfecto comes to the mind as the leather jacket when most people listen to the word ‘leather jacket’.

While 'perfecto' is the trademarked term for the jacket but the ‘double-rider’ or the ‘rider’ is the generic term for the jacket. The variations of this leather jacket style would have two zippers in place of one.

The Racer Jacket: This is a centre-front zipper jacket with a traditional band collar. It has minimal design details. Most of the classic racer jacket pockets come with zippers. The jacket is not only simple but extremely versatile and easy to wear.

The Bomber or the Flight Jacket: The A2 is the original military-designed leather jacket for pilots. In these, the centre zipper is covered using placket for rendering a greater protection from the wind. The signature details would include hems and cuffs.

Apart from this, there are two big front flap pockets. These types of men’s leather blazers are insulated for keeping the pilots warm over heights. The A2 jackets are usually cropped up to the hips for making them easier to wear while sitting. The jackets having fur collars provide for an additional detail, characteristic of the newer G1 model.

MA1 Bomber Jacket: This is another original military design. This jacket has been originally made from nylon. It is also known by the generic term bomber.

The distinct features of MA1 include ribbed collar and slit pockets in place of the two front flap pockets and also a zipper pocket present on the left sleeve. It is often adapted from leather and is sleeker than the puffy military version of the jacket.

‘Fencing’ Jacket: This version has been adapted from the fencer’s wear. Zippers are extremely asymmetrical and they feature a strong S-curve design. The style is preferred by higher-avante garde labels.

Price factors

The price of the jackets is mainly dependent on the quality of the leather used in the jacket. The cheaper jackets are mainly made from corrected leather. This pertains to animals that have a lot of scarring, nicks or branding during their raising. The skins of such type have to be sanded down and incorporated with faux leather grains. Apart from this, there has to be an extra spray of treatments and dyes for making them more uniform.

The corrected leathers have a greatly smooth and plastic feel in comparison to the soft, oily and unevenly textured uncorrected skins.

Top-stitching and linings are other factors adding to the value and appearance of the men’s leather blazers.
